Reimagining Education in Belize

On June 3rd, 2021, PathLight had the privilege of hosting Dr. Louis Zabaneh, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Education in Belize, in an expansive discussion on the future of education in Belize.

We covered a lot of ground, from Belize’s macroeconomic conditions to challenges in Primary and Secondary education in Belize to exciting ideas on charting a new course for schooling in the country.

Dr. Zabaneh is no stranger to education in Belize given his past experience as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University College of Belize and President of Galen University. He has also written extensively on sustainable human development in the Belizean context.

Dr. Zabaneh’s ambitions for the future of Belize through education is at once ambitious yet practical. I hope you enjoy the conversation!
