Come for a weekend of fun to celebrate our students completing another year of school!
Trip description:
Join the PathLight team in Hopkins Bay to spend time with your sponsored student and encourage them as they finish out another great school year. There will be time for you to visit a PathLight Center, hear from our staff about the work we do in Belize—from our Leadership programming to how we are equipping parents—and enjoy some unforgettable outdoor adventuring with your student. There will be many opportunities to listen and learn about the impact that PathLight is having in the life of your student, and more than enough fun to make memories together for a lifetime.

Daily Itinerary

Arrival day. Get picked up from the airport and check into Golden Bay hotel in the heart of Belize City. Unwind over dinner with some of PathLight’s senior staff members who will catch you up on all the goings-on of the past year.

Spend the morning at Altun Ha, an ancient Mayan site, before heading to lunch with some of our stellar mentors. Next, visit a PathLight Center and hear a presentation from our Leadership+ staff about how we are raising up the next generation of Belizean leaders. End the day by driving to Hopkins Bay resort.

Head over to Bocawina National Park to meet your student for a day of all-out adventure together. Zipline through the trees, hike to a waterfall, and then rappel down it into the refreshing water below! Close out the day with a relaxed afternoon at the Hopkins Bay resort, where you can continue the water-filled fun with kayaking and swimming in the bay.

Departure day. Have breakfast in Hopkins Bay and then head to the airport.

Alex Cal & Tono Bol
Alex Cal (left) is Director of Path.  He takes great pride in shaping how people experience Belize, creating memorable spiritual and cultural experiences that reflect the rich history of the country and deepening guests’ understanding of PathLight’s mission. Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and feels honored to be part of an industry that significantly contributes to Belize’s economy.
Tono Bol (right) is Director of Facilities and Projects and has been with PathLight since the beginning in 2007. Whether he’s teaching students practical skills, repairing whatever is broken, supporting a Path construction project, or quietly giving a student or colleague the helping hand they need, Tono has been the one we can count on.Â
