Daily Itinerary

  • 1

Arrival day. Pick up from the airport. Drive to Jaguar Creek: an eco-lodge in the heart of the rainforest where PathLight’s students and staff first gathered 18 years ago. Get to know each other over dinner or perhaps around the fire pit as you enjoy the sounds of the jungle.

  • 2

After breakfast, head to the nearby Armenia Village to learn PathLight’s origin story and hear from current staff and local alumni. Finish your morning at the local tortilla factory. After lunch, take a driving tour through Belmopan–the nation’s capital–before heading to the PathLight Center. Hang out with students as they participate in after-school activities and finish your day back at Jaguar Creek for a meal and some down time.

  • 3

Move from Belmopan to Belize City, where you will get a tour from one of our wonderful PathLight mentors. Arrive at the PathLight Center for devotions with the staff before lunch with the on-site leadership team. Then head over to the third and final PathLight Center in Orange Walk Town to hear from students in a different region of Belize. After a full day of fun, check in at El Gran Mestizo Resort and have a relaxed dinner.

  • 4

After breakfast, take an all-day river cruise to Lamanai Village, one of the region’s longest inhabited Mayan sites. Once you return to your hotel in the afternoon, spend some time by the pool before heading out to dinner. You will be joined by some of the same staff from yesterday’s Orange Walk visit to continue the conversation about the state of education in Belize.

  • 5

After a leisurely morning, check out of the hotel and head for the water ferry that will take you to your final destination: a Caribbean island getaway on Caye Caulker.

  • 6

Take some time to relax and recharge. Spend the day by the beach, snorkeling, fishing, and enjoying all that the island has to offer.

  • 7

After breakfast, fly from the small island airport to Belize City to catch your flight home.
