Serve Belize & Shape Your Family
Discover what happens when service shapes your family story. Return home with hope, joy, and new friendships your kids will treasure.
Trip description:
This isn’t just a Belizean adventure: it’s a shared journey of service, learning, and spiritual growth. Each morning will begin with a family devotional centered on gratitude, grounding your experiences in reflection and faith. Each afternoon, your family will join hands with Belizean leaders and remarkable PathLight students to support a community-led project that fosters dignity and leaves a lasting impact.
Along the way, you’ll share meals with entrepreneurs and changemakers who are building a sustainable future in a country where over half the population is under 25, learning from their resilience and industry insight. These are the voices and visions shaping tomorrow. In between, you’ll explore the vibrant natural world of Belize—its jungles, rivers, and coral reefs—allowing your family to step outside the familiar and into a rhythm of awe and togetherness.
This trip is more than an opportunity for your family to serve Belize: it’s an invitation into a bigger story shaped by purpose and compassion, showing you and your kids what it means to live generously, serve faithfully, and grow together as a family.

In the evening, gather with PathLight staff and local partners over dinner to begin building the relationships that will shape your week.

Start your morning with optional birdwatching and a family devotional focused on gratitude. Then, head to Belmopan for your first full day of service—working alongside PathLight students at a critical community center, planting seeds of change and understanding. After lunch with local friends, visit the U.S. Embassy to learn how public service intersects with development. Back at the lodge, enjoy time to rest, reflect, and reconnect with your fellow travelers.

Wake to the sounds of the jungle before returning to Belmopan for your collaborative service project, strengthening friendships with young PathLight leaders. After sharing a final meal with the students, return to the lodge for a restful afternoon of light adventure—whether it’s paddling downriver, hiking jungle trails, or simply being together. End the day with a family-style dinner and space to share what you’ve learned and how you’ve grown.

After morning devotionals, head out for a unique experience at Royal Mayan Shrimp Farms, where innovation and sustainability meet tradition. Hear from its founder and CEO how entrepreneurship can serve communities and spark opportunity. Then, travel by boat to Blue Zen, a peaceful island retreat for the next part of your journey. Your family will settle into comfortable beachfront villas, with the option for a date-night dinner (childcare provided!) to close out the evening.

Spend your day discovering the beauty of Belize’s marine world—snorkeling the world’s second largest barrier reef, fishing, or simply enjoying time on and by the water.
