Advent is a great season to open our hearts toward others, and I hope you’ll check out what the organization I co-founded is doing.
Unsurprisingly, let me start by saying something a bit edgy: a child born to teenage parents, too poor to afford a hotel room, would be considered ‘at risk’ today.
In Belize, where PathLight works, there are 76 kids whose parents are too poor to afford tuition.
These students are highly motivated and qualify for a sponsorship to attend high school. Now I just need to find people to help pay for the sponsorship. And that’s where you come in.
This Christmas, your gift of $34 will put a student in school and on the surest path out of poverty.
Every one of these 76 students has a career goal – veterinarian, business owner, computer programmer. Who knows, maybe one will be a carpenter like a certain Joseph we know. Or a full-time mom who homeschools her kids. Or, I dunno, a donkey trainer?
Okay, I know I’ve degenerated into being flippant. But my point is valid – these students have aspirations, and you can help them pursue their dreams. A high school education is their first step.
