PathLight Signs Historic Agreement with Belize Ministry of Education
On Monday, January 7, PathLight International signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Belize Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture to formalize the relationship between PathLight and the Belize MoE, wherein PathLight is established as a legitimate and publicly recognized partner in Belize’s efforts to improve its education system, and strengthening the MoE’s efforts to help schools achieve their SIP goals.
Goals of the MoA:
To provide effective Coordination of Efforts between PathLight and the MoE in order to avoid duplication and overlap, better align resources, and to work more strategically and more broadly.
To establish PathLight as an included and supported Resource of the MoE in order to aid target schools in achieving their school improvement plans (SIP), provide math and reading intervention supports at targeted schools, and to coordinate school-wide service projects together.
To ensure there be a Mutually Affirming Relationship between PathLight and the MoE thus establishing clear lines of communication, access and coordination of efforts, mutual participation in large-scale strategic efforts (i.e. the National Literacy Initiative), and using common measurements of workshop/intervention efficacy.
To work together and where possible for the MoE to provide PathLight with on-campus Student, Teacher & School Supports in order to facilitate endeavors such as establishing after school programs, academic tutoring, and teacher resource centers in each District.
We are very excited about this partnership with the MoE and what it makes possible for the future of Belize!
