Pathlight International announces that Consuelo Godfrey has joined the CA-based non-profit as Associate Director, Teacher Training. Ms Godfrey joins Pathlight after serving with the Belizean Ministry of Education, in various capacities at St. John’s College, the University of Belize, and St. Catherine’s Academy. In her position with Pathlight, Ms Godfrey will assist in the expansion of PathLight’s Teacher Training Programs, leading workshops and conferences, opening four new Teacher Education Centers, and partnering with the Ministry of Education in helping Belizean schools achieve the goals of their school improvement plans.
“Consuelo joins Ms. Nilda Muschamp as PathLight’s second full time Belizean Teacher Trainer. She brings maturity and broad experience not only in teaching, but in curriculum design, student motivation and student assessment strategies. We celebrate bringing her on our team as a key voice in breaking the cycle of poverty and giving kids and teachers hope in Belize," says Pathlight CEO, Roger Dermody.
“I am excited about the work Pathlight is doing in Belize, and am honored to be a part of it,” says Consuelo.
Ms. Godfrey holds a Masters in Education in Literacy Development from the University of Lethbridge, Canada, and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English from the University of Belize. In addition to her work in the classroom, Ms. Godfrey is a Court Conflict Mediator, and an active volunteer in her community. She and her two daughters live near Belize City.
