PathLight International is pleased to announce that our COO, Roger Dermody, will assume the role of CEO - replacing long time CEO and founder, Roy Goble. Roger Dermody became the PathLight COO about a year ago. He has a proven record of success in ministry, both at Bel Air Presbyterian Church and as the deputy executive director of a large denomination’s national and international missions program. He also has a long history of volunteering with us in Belize: he was on the original design team for Jaguar Creek in the mid-90’s. For the past year we have seen his work at PathLight achieve amazing things. He is eager to take on the expanded challenge of being CEO.
This transition comes after 10 years of Roy Goble faithfully leading PathLight. What started as a part-time role for Roy turned into something much more demanding - PathLight has grown to need a leader who is focused full time on the organization.
“The part-time effort I give isn’t going to be enough in the next decade. After much prayer and conversation, it felt like now was the time to make the change. The PathLight Board unanimously agreed and generously gave me the time to work through a transition. The timing was especially good because we have an amazing Chief Operating Officer who would be a great CEO.” says Roy.
“I am both humbled and thrilled to be asked to take on this new role with PathLight. We have seen tremendous growth this past year, building upon the very strong foundation that Roy and the Board have laid. I am eager to do all I can to help PathLight impact even more lives in the years ahead,” says Roger.
Roy will continue as Chair of the Board of Directors, and will be in weekly conversations with Roger about ongoing operations. For more of what PathLight is doing, to become a sponsor, visit Belize, or to receive regular updates, please visit www.pathlight.org.
