Who we are
BELIZEAN STAFF:
Antonio (Tono) Bol - Operations Manager
Tono has been working for Jaguar Creek for over 10 years. In his early years here, he led many of the construction projects, including our beautiful chapel/classroom building. Today he is responsible for the oversight of the operations at JC including construction, maintenance, staffing, organizing service projects, and ensuring that guests receive a high quality experience during their visit. Tono enjoys the variety of experiences he gets while working with the groups that come to Jaguar Creek. Tono and his wife, Consuelo, have three children; 9 year old Marlee, 4 year old Joshua and Emily who was just born in December 2006. They live in Arizona (Teakettle) about 40 minutes away and attend the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Roaring Creek. Tono is 34 years old. His father was Mayan and his mother’s parents were from Nicaragua, which makes Tono “Mestizo” (a mix of Mayan and Hispanic). Tono speaks English, Spanish and Creole, sometimes all in the same sentence! Tono enjoys coaching both youth and adult football (soccer) teams and farming his land. He looks forward to continuing his education and working to the best of his ability to encourage everyone at Jaguar Creek.
Esteban (Steve) Bol - Maintenance Technician
Steve has been working for Jaguar Creek for about seven years and is responsible for maintenance of the solar, electrical, water purification, and plumbing systems on site. He also helps with construction projects and fixes almost anything that breaks (which in the jungle is almost everything, eventually). He says that he likes everything about working at Jaguar Creek and is interested in furthering his knowledge of electrical systems. Steve, who is the brother of Tono, is 30 years old and lives in Roaring Creek with his wife, Julie (our kitchen lead) and their daughter, Jadeh who (like her cousin) was born in December 2006. They attend the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Roaring Creek. Steve enjoys playing football (soccer) and basketball, and farming. He is currently working to re-forest a portion of his land that had previously been cleared and burned.
Mateo Chiquin - Maintenance
Mateo currently has over three years seniority with Jaguar Creek, and is responsible for maintaining the grounds, boardwalks and trails, and helping with construction projects. Mateo was one of the people that helped build the development center in Armenia. At one time Mateo and his family lived at Jaguar Creek, but now they are located in Armenia village near two his other brothers. Mateo is Ketchi (Mayan) and is married to Rebecca who is Maya Mopan. They have three small children; Jessica, Michael and Indira. When he isn’t working, he enjoys playing sports like basketball and football (soccer). Mateo appreciates the fact that Jaguar Creek is cool with lots of shade.
Julie Bol - Lead Kitchen/Housekeeping Staff
Julie has been working for Jaguar Creek for more than a year. She is responsible for planning the menu, making the grocery lists, preparing and serving the meals, and housekeeping throughout the facility. Julie, who is 23 and Creole, is married to Steve (our maintenance technician) and has a daughter named Jadeh. When she is not cooking at Jaguar Creek, she is often cooking at home, including beautiful wedding and birthday cakes .
Martin Choc - Maintenance

Martin, 17, has been working for Jaguar Creek off and on since January 2007. He was born in Toledo (Belize, not Ohio!), and moved to Armenia when he was 3 months old. He sixth in a family of 4 girls and 3 boys. When Martin was in Standard 5 (7th grade) his father was injured in a hunting accident which left him unable to work. As a result Martin left school to go to work. When not working at Jaguar Creek, Martin works on their farm, or enjoys taking a walk with his sister.
Hadie Welcome - Kitchen/Housekeeping
What a great last name! (Hadie got it from her father’s mother.) Hadie has been working as a cook for Jaguar Creek since April 2007. She has two daughters, Tirina and Kelisha and lives in Roaring Creek. Hadie was the first in her family to complete 4th Form (12th grade) and someday she would like to go to the University of Belize to study tourism. Another dream is to travel to New York or California. Hadie loves Jaguar Creek; she says it is cool, quiet and beautiful, but would remind guests to bring their bug repellant!
Raul Ramirez - Maintenance/Construction
Raul joined Jaguar Creek in September 2007. He is experienced with many types of construction and has worked on many of the new sections of boardwalk that you see at Jaguar Creek. Raul and his sister moved here from El Salvador in 2001. Raul who is 30, lives in Arizona, a small community near Teakettle. When he is not working, he likes to enjoy the outdoors by swimming in the rivers or having a day camp. He is also a good football (soccer) player, and the captain of a team that Tono coaches.
Job Lopez - Office & Scholarship Coordinator
Job started working for Jaguar Creek in October 2007, just a few months after he graduated from Belmopan Baptist High School as Student of the Year. In addition to working around the facility doing construction and maintenance, Job also helps with our bookkeeping, our scholarship program and hospitality. He was born in Manantial (near Armenia) and his family moved to Armenia when the village was first established. He likes the people and the peacefulness of Armenia and plans to live there his whole life, hopefully starting a business. Job is equally comfortable speaking English or Spanish.
Eric Martinez - Security
Eric joined Jaguar Creek in October 2007 to provide nighttime security. Born in Belmopan, Eric is 24 and lives just north of Armenia with his wife Yesenia and his young daughter Liaeney. He enjoys fishing and has worked as a tour guide in Lamanai, a Mayan ruin near Orange Walk which is best accessed by a 22 mile boat ride. Eric really enjoyed driving the twin engine boats there. His advice for visitors is: “enjoy the jungle, listen to the rain, the waterfalls, the birds and smell the great atmosphere”. He’s always willing to show our guests around, point out birds, answer questions and tell stories, and he can do it in either English or Spanish!
NORTH AMERICAN STAFF:
Mark and Adrienne Parcher - Executive Directors
After many years working in engineering and education, Mark and Adrienne felt God calling them to do something new. They have been associated with Jaguar Creek since its beginnings (under the name Christian Environmental Association). They were excited to have the opportunity to help form this new ministry. The timing was perfect, as their one year commitment to teaching at “La Palabra de Vida”, a Christian school near San Jose, Costa Rica was coming to an end. Mark and Adrienne lived at Jaguar Creek for the first half of 2007 overseeing many improvements to the facility and currently split their time between there and the Jaguar Creek offices in Pleasanton, California.
